THAI YOGA MASSAGE
Thai Yoga Massage, also called Nuad Boran, began to evolve in Thailand over 1,000 years ago. The session is performed on a comfortable mat on the floor and the recipient remains clothed during a treatment. Thai Yoga massage uses acupressure, palming and thumbing along the body's energy lines ( sen ) in combination with breath awareness to stretch muscles, tendons and fascia. It aids the lymphatic system in detoxifying the body as well as increasing blood flow.
In this process, joints are opened, muscles and tendons are stretched, internal organs are toned, and energy is balanced. The overall effect is one of deep relaxation, rejuvenation, physical and mental well being.
Benefits include increased range of motion, strengthened immune system, stress reduction and an overall sense of well being.
The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal ” or " all knowing" and (Ki) which means “Life Force Energy”. It is based on the belief that illness or Byosen, the term used to classify the site where healing is needed, is caused by an accumulation of toxins. During a session the practitioner channels Reiki into these areas with the aim of detoxification in both the subtle and physical body. Healing takes place at the physical, emotional and mental level. Reiki is a safe, gentle, non-invasive healing modality developed by Mikao Usui Sensei of Japan. It is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. Clients are fully clothed during a session. It can be performed on a massage table, or chair if need be. After each session clients receive a guided meditation for grounding.
“I will soothe you and heal you,
I will bring you roses.
I too have been covered with thorns.”
